Partnering with Edustaff in 2014 has brought about cost savings not just for Glen Oaks Community College, but also for the temporary employees who serve the college.

Whether they’re adjunct professors who normally work outside of academia, or students staffing the fitness center, temporary college employees are often required to pay into the state retirement system even though they will never benefit from it.

With Edustaff as their employer, the employees aren’t required to pay into the system, nor is the college required to make retirement system contributionson their behalf.

Those cost savings were the main reason Glen Oaks partnered with Edustaff, said Jamie Bennett-Yesh, Executive Director for Human Resources at Glen Oaks. But the college has also seen many other benefits since then. Edustaff handles their recruiting, screening, background checks, compliance training, onboarding, and payroll processing for adjunct professors, fitness center employees, and coaches.

“The team has been super fast and responsive to get people onboarded and get the background checks and paperwork completed quickly,” she said. “The turnaround is really timely, and whenever we have issues, like if someone forgot to submit their timecard, they are able to solve it so the employee isn’t negatively affected,” she said.

She also appreciates how Edustaff keeps her updated on new services being offered, and takes the time to thoroughly explain possible solutions if an unusual situation arises.

“I can reach out to them, and they’re helpful in walking me through what would need to be done, answering my questions,” she said.
